My First day in school
To my belowed father late Shri K. A. Panicker
Halmlet Kovilloor was beautiful
But sans a primary school then
Charumkuzhy being the nearest one
One hour away by foot
It was raining cats and dog
Early Morning did we start
With my father brother and sister
Holding Banana leaves for umbrellas
We walked splashing water cristals
And reached the school on time
I still remember Gandhimash
Who filled the form for my admission
Father bought my first slate and pencil
And took me to Headmaster's office
Then I was led to my class room
I was weepping all the way
I ran out to search my father
But my teacher caught me on my way
And put me back to my class again...
